In 2005, one of Jifundishe’s talented volunteers came to the library and taught a group of women and girls how to knit, and they took to it in a flash! This program is a wonderful example of Jifundishe’s aim to make “a little go a long way”.
With left-over yarn scraps and donated skeins, these women are able to create beautiful hats, scarves, dolls, and more. They are able to either sell these products themselves in local markets, keep them for their own use, or sell them to Jifundishe to be used at fundraisers and educational events all over the world.
Our Dada Dolls and Kaka Dolls are sold at Liberty House in New York City as well as at several lodges and resorts in Tanzania.
